The Great Dominion-Gondor War was a conflict between the Mordoran Dominion and the Kingdom of Gondor, with the former being backed by the Dark Alliance and the latter by many Good Factions. It started on November 25th 2017 and ended in mid 2018.

Background[]
Faylynn, Sauron of Mordor, was determined to destroy Gondor and occupied Ethir Anduin while supporting Umbar in its conquest of Tolfalas. He then supported Lebennin and Dol Amroth insurgents against Gondor, but a peace treaty was signed in Lebennin while the fighting in Dol Amroth became drawn out and indecisive. Deciding to open up another front against Gondor, Faylynn declared war on November 25th 2017 with the immediate goal of conquering Ithilien.
Both sides immediately began searching for allies. The Astrasi Empire factions refused to aid Faylynn due to his part in the Kings Men plot, Dunland was weak and unable to fight in any foreign wars, while the Khaganate had only recently attempted to overthrow Faylynn, but the other Dark Alliance factions: Dol Guldur, Gundabad, Isengard, and the Moredain answered Faylynn's call for aid. Some Astrasi troops additionally aided Mordor despite the Astrasi's refusal to officially support them.
Gondor, meanwhile, was immediately joined by its Coalition of Dawn allies of Rohan and Arnor. Olgierd, a member of a new, warlike generation of elves had recently risen to power in the Wood-Elves and agreed to back Gondor as well. The Dwarven Council agreed to aid Gondor due to Arnor's involvement, but the Woodmen were at the time small and irrelevant, Dale was in the midst of civil crises, and the remaining Mallorn Council factions were still exercising a position of neutrality.
War[]
Mordor first struck at JJofJ's city of Minas Alqua on January 20th 2018, hoping to destroy Gondor's closest ally. Massive amounts of dwarves crowded the cities defenses, along with sizable numbers of Arnorian and Gondorian defenders. Arrows flew for over an hour between the outnumbered Evil forces and the forces of Good, before the armies of Sauron charged the city and cut down its remaining defenders. Minas Alqua, had fallen.
Invigorated from the decisive victory of Minas Alqua, Lord Sauron declared siege against the small town of Bree on January 26th 2018. Arnor and its ally's were outnumbered, poorly equipped, and had no real defenses to shield themselves from the attackers. The massive hordes of evil overran the town and slaughtered its defenders.
Following the victory at Bree, the Dominion turned its eye back towards Gondor. With Arnor no longer being targeted by the Dominion, the Dwarves withdrew from the war, and the forces of evil marched towards Minas Tirith. The Coalition of Dawn and its allies met Saurons forces at the wall of Rammas Echor on March 9th 2018, and bloody battle was fought. In the end evil lay defeated.
Angered by their defeat at the Battle for Rammas Echor, Gundabad itself decided to go on the offensive, and War Chief wolfking_nl declared siege against the port city of Edhellond on February 13th 2018. Three of Evil's greatest fighters met three of Good's and by the time the dust had cleared, all lay dead. The battle was a draw.
Having held off multiple invasions against it's own territory, Gondor was ready to go on the offensive, and KevinLOTR declared siege against the Black Gate on April 6th 2018. Mordor assembled a force of fourteen soldiers while Gondor gathered seventeen, and after a large battle, Mordor was driven back.
After defeating an enemy army for the first time on Mordor soil, Gondor, with the support of a resurgent Dale, declared siege against the small village of Ethir Anduin on May 14th 2018. No defenders stood against the forces of good, and the village bloodlessly fell to Gondor.
Following the battle of Ethir Anduin, the two sides opened negotiations. Both realms understood that the war was causing only hardship to their people, and were ready to end it. On June 4th 2018, the Treaty of Crossroads of the Fallen King was signed, which split Ithilien down the Harad Road with Crossroads of the Fallen King being split between the two sides. This plan eventually broke down, however, when Mordor took complete control over the fortress.
