Government[]

The Golden Wood is ruled over by the King of Lothlórien, currently FlyingCow2. The king is the Galadhrim's representative among the other factions, both good and evil, as well as the chairman of our government.

The 2nd in command of Lothlórien is the Queen of Lothlórien, currently Drakerla. They are appointed by the council as co-ruler and heir to the throne.

Beneath the King and Queen stand the Higher Council. The council is made up of 5 members called Arphen Lórien who serve as the main governing body of the faction. The Council are appointed by the King and Queen. They take administrative roles within the faction and advising the King and Queen. They also vote on important faction decisons. The King and Queen are both ipso facto council members. The current serving council members are:

  • FlyingCow2(King)
  • Drakerla(Queen)
  • Vacant
  • Bomber01
  • Vacant

There are also non voting members of the higher council called Yer-Moriquende or council elders. These are members who the King and Queen value the input and advice from.

A Lower Council was introduced with members being called Hest Lórien. These consist of members who have been recently promoted to Hest Lórien, with a possibility to become Arphen Lórien, thanks to their hard work within the faction. They work with the higher council to provide ideas and deal with things in the faction. The current Hest Lórien are:

  • DoctorThreepwood
  • Thebosslin
  • Rei20

If the King or Queen undergoes a period of absence beyond their control, they must appoint a Regent. This is usually one of the Arphen Lórien but can be anyone they choose. The Regent takes the place of either the King or Queen as our political representative in inter-faction councils, and for all intents and purposes becomes leader of the faction until the King or Queen has returned. If the Regent wishes to resign, they must appoint a new Regent.

The individual Galadhrim is not without a voice of their own, however. Whenever a large decision that would affect the faction at large must be made (such as whether to enter a war), the King and Queen organise a vote among the Galadhrim.

Lothlórien is bound by Non Aggression Pacts (NAPs) with the following factions:

  • Bree-land
  • The Dwarves of Khazad-Dum
  • The Union of Numenor (Gondor, Dol Amroth, Rohan, Arnor and Dorwinion)
  • The High Elven Kingdom
  • The Dwarves of the East (formerly The Dwarves of the Mountains of the Wind and the Red Dwarves)

This means that the Galadhrim must not attack, or provoke members of these factions unless agreed upon by both sides (unless of course they struck first).

Lothlórien also has defensive pacts with:

  • The High Elven Kingdom
  • The Dwarves of the Mountains of the Wind

Galadhrim are not required nor expected to fight in wars Lórien may find itself in.

massive treetop citadel as envisioned by Cookminers, Sinzpet, Celleborn, Gingilipho and Orchidcube. It is still a long way from completion, though the work is going swiftly. The city is now being re-vamped, with the High Elves and the Galadhrim working together to create a new city which will be the wonder of the world.

Cerin Amroth - An old recruitment camp, full of history of war and conquest by both good and evil. Cerin Amroth is 80% built, with some smaller additions yet to be added to the server. Cerin Amroth is now home to Lothlórien first traders, ranging from Lindon and Rivendell Smiths to our very own Galadhrim Smiths.

House of Nimrodel - The second new waypoint build being constructed, progress on building Nimrodel has been started.

Server History[]

In the dawn of the server Lothlórien was founded by TheOneGoran, a server admin. Goran notably opposed b_boymasterman’s seizure of power in Gondor and began building a treetop city but eventually disappeared. For a brief time Lothlórien was leaderless until Celleborn appeared in the winter of 2014 and constructed Caras Galadhon while FutureAssasin57 was given rule over all land south of the river and began building Cerin Amroth. Celleborn joined the White Council on February 16th 2015 and as a result Lothlórien took part in the Southern War.

Assassin soon vanished but Galadriell and Cookieminers were recruited by Celleborn. In May 2015 Celleborn disappeared and was succeeded as ruler by Galadriell. Cookieminers became the Steward of Galadriell and claimed the uninhabited Vales of Anduin, Gladden Fields, Fields of Celebrant, Chetwood, Rhun Forests, Shire Forests, and a settlement known as Eryn Wethrin in the Woodland Realm. These new territories became known as The Imperium, which was governed by Cookieminers as a province of Lothlórien. Cookie also took rule over Cerin Amroth.

In June 2015 Galadriell abdicated for Cookieminers. Cookie cared little for the wars of the world, left the White Council, and oversaw the establishment of an elvish alliance known as the Mallorn Council on June 10th 2015. Cookie also formed the House system of Lothlórien with himself ruling the House of Nothrim Celebri, Steward Lithaeril ruling the House of Nothrim Ithilidin, and miner49er876 taking rule over the House of Nothrim Mellos. Miner ruled his own faction known as Gladden in the Gladden Fields but did homage to Caras Galadhon.

When the Great War broke out in July 2015 Cookie attempted to remain neutral but elements of Lothlórien fought in the Siege of Caradhras. Galadriell later returned and became Cookie’s Intelligence Officer while effectively rising to the status of 2nd in command after Lithaeril disappeared. On August 10th 2015 Cookie signed a deal with SinzPet of the High-Elves in which Swanfleet was ceded to the High-Elves in exchange for their aid in constructing Caras Galadhon.

On September 5th 2015 war broke out between the Dwarves and Gladden but Cookie refused to take up arms against miner and on September 11th 2015 Celleborn returned to the server and demanded that Cookie return the throne to him. The White Council saw Cookie as an unreliable ally and declared support for Celleborn while his old protégé Galadriell backed him as well. With the only other Lothlórien players being new and inexperienced Cookie was forced to abdicate and give Cerin Amroth and Caras Galadhon to Celleborn on September 13th 2015.

Celleborn immediately named Galadriell Lady of Lothlorien, rejoined the White Council, and abandoned the entirety of the Imperium, withdrawing back into the Golden Wood. New players flowed into Lothlorien with a large council being established. During Celleborn’s tenure the House of Nimrodel was built while Cerin Amroth and Caras Galadhon were expanded. On November 25th 2015 Celleborn officially severed ties with Gladden and instated a kill-on-site order.

Galadriell eventually vanished and in the fall of 2016 Master of Resources Orchidcube was named Lady of Lothlórien, ruling alongside Celleborn. Celleborn was now seen little so Gingilgipho, the former ruler of the Northern Tauredain, was named Lord of Lothlórien by Orchid. In late 2017 the pair annexed the Gladden Fields following the disbandment of Gladden and the Fields of Celebrant following the disbandment of the Gray-Elves.

By early 2018 Ging had disappeared, however, and Orchid named no new Lord, instead ruling alone. Throughout her reign Orchid continued expanding Caras Galadhon and adopted a policy of isolationism, only interfering in foreign affairs to oppose the deposition of dextrosityoflight of Dorwinion on November 27th 2019 and the Fangorn Rebellion on April 3rd 2019.

Starting in 2019 Orchid was seen little with many of her duties as ruler being taken over first by Glaad5678 and then by Tojn. After Tojn disappeared Lothlórien was effectively leaderless, its newer members having little connection with Orchid or the aging faction hierarchy. As such on November 24th 2020, Bomber01, a popular and wealthy elf, declared civil war against Orchid.

Bomber and his deputy Drakerla held the support most of the newer members while Orchid was supported by the faction’s old guard as well as Flyingcow2, a powerful warrior who disliked Bomber. Flying led Orchid’s forces in defeating Bomber on April 10th 2021 and Orchid was compelled to name Flying to the vacant title of Lord of Lorien on April 11th 2021. Bomber nevertheless continued engaging Flying and established a stronghold known as Cuio I Nanorthas Anann.

On January 1st 2022 the Mallorn Council officially disbanded. On January 6th 2022 a treaty was signed between Flying and Bomber with the two groups merging under a government that saw Flying becoming the King of Lórien, Drakerla becoming Queen of Lórien, and Orchid being sidelined.

On February 25th 2021 a fun war with Khazad-Dum was announced and Lothlórien won two decisive victories. Flying signed many new alliances following the fall of the Mallorn Council and as a result on March 17th 2022 Lothlórien joined the Wind Dwarven-Rhudel War.

On December 20th 2022 Lothlórien joined the Rhudel-Dale war, and after a breakdown in communication, were forced to exit the war on December 30th 2022. Lothlórien continued to fight in the war as mercenaries, however, contributing to a decisive victory at Taragal on January 15th 2023.

In addition to aiding the Dalish, Lothlórien also joined the Gondor-Near Harad war on January 16th 2023.

With the Rhudel-Dale war ending on February 19th 2023, Lothlórien took quick action and declared war on Rhudel immediately after. The first battle took place in Rhudel territory on March 26th 2023, as our warriors valiantly defeated the Easterlings in the Battle of the Northern Marches. Behind the scenes, a political battle was taking place in the war channel, with Drakerla and Bomber having to deal with the Rhudel leader Wraith who was trying his best to evade sieging so that they wouldn't lose any more tiles. This led to a battle being cancelled at the last minute when our warriors were already at the battlefield on April 29th 2023. Calls were then made to declare the battle as a forfeit from Rhudel, but the admins made the decision to reschedule the fight instead. The Battle of the Field of Celebrant finally occured on May 20th 2023, almost a month later. Once again, Lothlórien forces swept through the Easterlings, not taking a single casualty in this fight.

A week later, on May 27th 2023, the war was ended by the admins and mutual agreement from both sides, due to behind the scenes toxicity and other stuff. The war was declared as a Lothlórien victory, taking 2 wins to 0 losses!

In the time after this, Lothlórien settled back into peace - taking the time to complete construction on Cerin Amroth. The surface level of the build was fully completed, with the majority of the underground reaching completion as well.

Wartime hit Lothlórien again on September 19th, as we stepped into to help the Limwaith in their war against Near Harad in a rare occurence of evil fighting evil. The Galadhrim helped the Limwaith secure victory in the Battle of Moko Ngārara on September 23rd 2023. The war ended two weeks later on October 7th 2023.
